Danger Man (or Secret Agent if you are American) is the original adventure series. It starred Patrick McGoohan as secret
agent John Drake.

Yes, he did star in and produce "The Prisoner" another slightly more popular cult programe
How many episodes where made?
There were four seasons split as follows:
Season 1
39 Monochrome 30 minute episodes
Season 2
32 Monochrome 60 minute episodes
Season 3
13 Monochrome 60 minute episodes
Season 4
2 colour 60 minute episodes.

How did the series come about?
The series was first thought of by Ralph Smart. An Australian Writer/Directer.
He spent a lot of time working for Sapphire Films (A company set up to produce
programes for Lew Grade's new TV company ITC). After working on series such as
The Adventures of Robin Hood he was approached by Lew Grade to produce a
show himself. The Idea of John Drake and Danger man was one of a few ideas that
were put forward. Smart approached McGoohan while he was acting in a show called
"The Knife" and the rest is as they say history.
