The Liverpool Scene

Andy Geliher reports (1995)...

In the late 60s/early 70s there were a number of recordings available under (as I remember) the generic title of The Liverpool Scene.

I'm pressing my memory for this data so (after 25 years) it's not reliable.

My recollection is that there was a "band" named The Liverpool Scene and that Andy Roberts was a key member. The albums however were a mixture of Henry/McGough/Patten perfoming their works and Andy Roberts/band musical tracks. I think there were three albums.

I stress this is all recollection, I never owned these albums I only borrowed them. However whatever they were, the albums existed. I originally knew the "Liverpool Poets" as The Liverpool Scene. There was also a book with this title by Edward Lucie-Smith, a compilation of the Mersey poets.

John G. Bliss contributed this info (1997)...

Liverpool Scene recorded at least 3 albums. I have 2 of them, Coventry Library used to have the other. The ones I have are:

Side 2 was recorded live at the Airport Lounge, University of Warwick on October 1, 1970 (I was at the show, which was a great one.)

  3. There is also at least one single: Love Is/Woo-Woo
