The Church of Scientology

I was interested in the 1996 fuss over an ex-member's attempt to publicise the truth about these <insert your favourite word for them>, having only heard a little bit about them before (and L. Ron Hubbard).

Then in November 1997 there was an excellent Channel 4 Secret Lives documentary on LRH, portraying him as a liar, con man, adulterer, child abuser and loony.
