Lewes Live Literature Festival Oct 31 - Nov 2 2003
At our festival we have two events that may be of interest:
a talk with video clips by Lucian Randall & Chris Welch on Ginger Geezer, their biography
of Vivian Stanshall (Sat 1 Nov at 5.30pm);
a performance by Neil Innes and John Dowie entitled Ego Warriors (Sat 1 Nov at
8.30pm).
Sea Urchin Press is publishing the script of the
Stinkfoot
comic opera by Vivian Stanshall and Ki Longfellow-Stanshall.
It'll include photos and artwork.
The Ginger Geezer site will have an order form soon.
Ginger Geezer, the official Vivian Stanshall tribute site,
has just been overhauled in its entirety.
A new Web site, Rawlinson End
by John Hobbs, concentrates on the BBC Radio shows.

Unexpected Bonzos!
BBC Breakfast News is running a series in which prominent people highlight
key developments of the century.
Denis Healey covered politics.
Today it was the author Fay Weldon on art and literature.
She cited the current British shock art movement, Graham Greene, Joseph Losey's Accident,
Edith Sitwell's Facade and the Bonzo Dog Band -
cue a clip of Canyons Of Your Mind from Colour Me Pop.
She said the Bonzos were the peak of the ridiculous with amazing whimsey.

Thanks to Lucian Randall for spotting & reporting a rare Bonzos sighting on TV:
"TOTP2" on BBC2 on Wed. 22nd, repeated on Sat. 25th (15:45-16:30).
Lucian reports it includes "Urban Spaceman accompanied by a video consisting of
various clips of the band mincing through the forest (clearly where the
stills for 'Softly dear boy, we mustn't disturb the doughnut' were taken
from, plus other bits and pieces."
