The revitalisation of "Docklands" by the Docklands Development Corporation
was in full swing, with many reports in the media.
I wanted to see for myself what it was all about.
What follows is pieced together mainly from memories triggered by my trips in 2000.
- London Bridge station (approx. 11:30)
- Hay's Galleria
- [2000]
- Walked across Tower bridge
- It started to rain, causing me to curtail plans, in particular the one to ride
eastwards on the Docklands Light Railway into the heart of the redevelopment.
- St Katharine's Dock
- Eary stages of redevelopment
- [2000]
- Nearby, a building site hoarding proudly announcing the site of the European Patent Office
- It seems this was some sort of ploy - it didn't end up there.
